Library
Inge Ricker and Glinda Mason began updating St. Timothy’s library in 2002. They continue that effort in order to support and reflect St. Timothy’s mission to worship, reach, nurture and teach by providing and organizing print and non-print materials.
The materials are provided in order to increase and enrich knowledge of our beliefs, strengthen the educational program of the church, and provide core Christian viewpoints on current issues.
In 2007, 108 books and videos were added, for a total of 1208. A special grant from the “Miles for Pennies” National Church Periodical Club helped purchase many quality books and videos in Spanish. These materials can be found in a specially marked section of the library with a yellow dot on the spine of each book.
The library is organized according to the Dewey Decimal subject system. Anyone may check out library materials for a period of one month. To check out an item, complete the card inside the cover and leave it in the designated card file. Items may be returned to the designated basket.
The library database is available on the St. Timothy’s website so anyone can search for just the right book or video. Click on http://www.sttimsyakima.org/cgi-bin/libsearch.cgi and click on St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church Yakima to access it. *Note: If searching by author, use author’s last name.
